3rd Party DIP Modules |
|
|
This section highlights 3rd party DIP modules based on FTDI devices.
These products allow customers to quickly evaluate our devices and
drivers prior to commencing their own design. These modules are
suitable for incorporating directly into low/medium volume product
designs as they can plug into standard 0.6in wide DIP sockets.
These products are not usually available through regular FTDI
distribution channels. The product manufacturers should be
contacted in each case for details of where to buy.

YAMPP -
USB Mini Module |
|
The USB Mini Module is a tiny PCB, the size of a standard 24 pin DIL
chip. It's a small development board that will simplify adding USB
to your project.
If contains a FT245BM USB chip
from FTDI. This chip is a complete USB interface, including the
USB protocol stack.
It connects to your project
through an 8-bit data bus, a RD and WR line and 2 status pins. It
doesn't get simpler than this.
There's no need to add a lot of code to handle the USB stack, all this
is handled inside the FTDI chip.
The board measures only 37mm x 20mm, including the USB connector.
It has a 93C46 EEPROM (optional) on the back that allows you to program
the USB device name strings, as well as the VID and PID values.

ASIX - UMS1B USB - Serial
Interface Module |
|
UMS1 is a USB to serial interface module based on the FT8U232AM chip
made by FTDI. It enables very easy connection of the user's
application to the PC via the USB port, without necessity of any deep
knowledge about the complicated USB problems.
On the USB side of UMS1B there are 2 signals D+ and D-, on the opposite
side there are the serial port signals (in the TTL level) with full data
flow control. UMS1B is capable to transfer data at speeds up to
920kBaud in RS232 mode and up to 2000kBaud in the RS485 mode.
UMS1B supports an external EEPROM (93C46) storing the ID data (VID, PID,
serial number and description strings).
UMS1B is manufactured as a DIP-24 device with standard pin distance of
2.54mm (0.1"). It can be put into standard or precision DIP socket
or it can be directly soldered to user application PCB. It saves
time and money in small series production.

ASIX - UMS2 USB - Serial
Interface Module |
|
UMS2 is a USB to serial interface module based on the powerful
FT232BM chip from FTDI. It enables
very easy connection of the user's application to the PC via the USB
port, without necessity of any deep knowledge about the complicated USB
problems.
On the USB side of UMS2 there are 2 signals D+ and D-, on the opposite
side there are the serial port signals (in the TTL level) with full data
flow control. UMS2 is capable to transfer data at speeds up to 1M Baud
in RS232 mode and up to 3M Baud in the RS485 mode. UMS2 contains
the on-board serial EEPROM (93LC56) for storing the ID data (VID, PID,
serial number and description strings).
UMS2 is manufactured as a DIP-28 device with standard pin distance of
2.54mm (0.1"). It can be put into standard or precision DIP socket
or it can be directly soldered to user application PCB. It saves
time and money in small series production.

ASIX - UMP1 USB - Parallel
Interface Module |
|
UMP1 is an USB to parallel 8-bit FIFO interface module based on the
FT245BM chip from FTDI. It enables very easy connection of the
user's application to the PC via the USB port, without necessity of any
deep knowledge about the complicated USB problems.
On the USB side of UMP1 there are 2 signals D+ and D-, on the opposite
side there is 8-bit bidirectional bus and 4 handshaking signals (with
the TTL level) for data flow control. UMP1 is capable to transfer
data at speeds up to 1M Byte per second. UMP1 supports the
external EEPROM (93C46) storing the ID data (VID, PID, serial number and
description strings).
UMP1 is manufactured as a DIP-24 device with standard pin distance of
2.54mm (0.1"). It can be put into standard or precision DIP socket
or it can be directly soldered to user application PCB. It saves
time and money in small series production.
