Lead-free Policy Statement
Background:
The European Union RoHS (lead-free) directive comes into effect on 1st July 2006.  From this date, except in some specific circumstances, it will be illegal for any manufacturer or supplier in the EU to supply products containing certain specified materials, including lead in solder and solderable finishes.

FTDI Policy:
Future Technology Devices International is committed to manage its business in an environmentally responsible manner and as such is committed to complying with the lead-free directive.

We have a RoHS compliance strategy where all new products introduced after 1st January 2006 will be lead-free and all existing products using solder containing lead will be transitioned to RoSH compliant versions.
