FTDI Chip Kickstarts NerO Project on 10 December FTDI Chip has always looked for imaginative ways to solve today’s electronics engineering problems. Now it is also experimenting with how to bring
new solutions to market - with it latest product, NerO, being introduced on KickStarter. The objective of NerO is to deal with the fundamental drawbacks
of the widely-used Arduino UNO R3 and, by utilizing a crowdfunding platform, get the engineering community involved right from the very beginning.

Ultimate bridging solutions with the new FT90x 32-bit MCU series FTDI Chip is pleased to
announce the launch of it''s FT90x series incorporating both ICs and
corresponding development modules, now available in full production
quantities. Based upon the new FT32
high performance, 32 bit RISC core, the FT90x provides a wide variety of
connectivity and configurable bridging options including 10/100 Ethernet
(PHY on chip), High Speed USB, camera interface, CAN, I2S and
more, making it the ideal choice for high speed, advanced technology
bridging solutions. By executing instructions from shadow RAM the FT90x can
operate at true Zero Wait States (0WS) up to 100MHz with 310 DMIPS
performance. In addition to the range of ICs, a number of development modules are available: the MM900EVxA
series which provide full hardware feature support for the FT90x processor
in a variety of form factors, in addition to the UMFTPD2A
debugger/programmer module providing a USB bridge between the FT90x Eclipse
IDE development tools running on a PC and the FT90x 1-wire debug pin.

Introducing the FT81x - EVE, the next generation! FTDI Chip’s highly-regarded Embedded Video Engine (EVE) portfolio for advanced human
machine interface (HMI) implementation has been further strengthened with
the introduction of a new series of ICs and corresponding modules - the
FT81x series. These new EVE devices support higher maximum screen
resolutions than previously possible - increasing from the 512 x 512 pixels of
the company’s FT80x series and offering up to 800 x 600 pixels, in order to address
larger displays (7-inches and above) used in point-of-sales units,
information kiosks, etc. Now fully available in
production quantities, the FT810, FT811, FT812 and FT813 ICs provide
increased pixel resolution for sharper imagery, increased speed for faster
data transfer and image/video loading, and larger memory capacity. In
addition, the VM81x series currently includes the VM810C, a credit card
sized development module to assist developing and demonstrating the functionality of the
FT810 IC. This module behaves as an SPI slave, requiring a SPI Master for
proper micro-controller interfacing and system integration. Two variants are available: the VM810C50A-D which is
equipped with a 5.0” 800x480 pixel TFT LCD display panel preinstalled and the VM810C50A-N which comes without the display.

FTDI Chip releases full SuperSpeed USB3.0 Product Set FTDI Chip is pleased to announce the full production release and availability of its
FT60x series, a sophisticated USB3.0 to FIFO bridge in a choice of low pin count packages.
In addition, four corresponding development modules are now available. The FT600 and FT601 are
FTDI Chip's first generation USB3.0 products that function as SuperSpeed
USB3.0 to FIFO bridges, providing data bursting rates of up to 3.2Gbps.
Designed with simplicity in mind, the chips are simple to connect and
control, with no firmware development required - just "fit and forget".
The UMFT60xA and UMFT60xX range of evaluation/development modules with either HSMC/FMC(LPC)
connectors have been designed to interface with the FT60x. The series allows for bridging
a FIFO bus to a USB3.0 host and evaluating the functionality of the FT60x.
As a daughter card, the UMFT60xx must work with a FIFO master board which
has either a FMC or HSMC connector. There are 4 models which provide
different FIFO bus interfaces and data bit widths, and they are designed to
plug in to most FPGA development platforms supplied by vendors such as
Altera (UMFT60xA) or Xilinx (UMFT60xX). Please click here to view the Press Release in

FTDI Chip Adds Graphic Toolchain Package to existing EVE Offering
FTDI Chip has introduced an EVE screen designer, built to offer more comprehensive support to its Embedded Video Engine (EVE) product offering. Suitable for use with Windows operating systems (Windows 7 and above), this highly sophisticated yet still easy-to-operate development suite enables the creation of advanced human machine interfaces (HMIs), via EVE’s innovative object-oriented approach, without any understanding of EVE display lists. This means that it is far more accessible to graphic designers who are concerned primarily with the look and feel of the HMI.
